National Minimum Wage – latest round of naming and shaming
The latest naming and shaming list (the Scheme), published by the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) on 20 February 2024, revealed that 524 businesses failed to pay their employees the National Minimum Wage (NMW).
Changes to creative sector tax relief claims
Last year, HMRC announced that it would change the process for making creative sector tax relief claims. Although the change was announced last summer, guidance was only issued by HMRC on 19 February 2024 leaving a very short window for organisations to be compliant with the new rules.
Changes to Companies House filing fees
Companies House has announced a revision in its filing fees, effective from 1 May 2024. This adjustment is part of a broader initiative under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Bill, which aims to enhance the integrity and reliability of the UK’s corporate registry.
