Why haysmacintyre?
Uniquely comprehensive
We offer you unequalled strength in breadth and depth. A look at our specialist services within the charity sector will show you why. From animal welfare to hospices, faith to grant making, and more, we are unique in providing such an extensive range of practical knowledge and expertise.
It means our relationship with you will start with a greater degree of insight and continue to grow as we get to know you better. As we do, you’ll continue to enjoy partner-led service; unusual for a firm at this level.
Proactive and constructive
Such a detailed understanding of your specific challenges and opportunities means we know what to look out for and are proactive in advising you. Our teams are always on the alert, picking up at an early stage issues that could affect you later. We can highlight potential problems and point you towards practical pre-emptive solutions.
Our support for you is not only in-depth, but year round. As business partners committed to your success, we don’t simply provide an audit. We offer to follow-up with a six-month review that evaluates where you are in your strategy and identifies possible issues such as tax or due diligence. It exemplifies the care and thought we bring to client relationships.
Always at the forefront
We regularly share our insights across the charity sector, with updates, briefings and benchmarking reports that allow you to make informed and meaningful comparisons. By using regularly updated data analytics software, we can assess and deliver information that is up to date, accurate and invaluable.
haysmacintyre believes in giving back to society, both through our Charities team and as a company. Many of our team members act as governors and trustees at charities, providing support and gaining greater understanding of our clients’ points of view. Similarly we are very active in the Trustee Training programme; our specialisations mean we are uniquely able to provide trustee training that’s bespoke to a charity’s particular area.
Each year our staff choose a charity partner to raise funds for. Most recently, they’ve chosen the Central London Samaritans. The firm also supports the activities of the Charity Finance Group (CFG), Civil Society, National Council for Voluntary Organisations and other sector bodies.

The partner and staff have taken the time to get to know us as a business and understand our sector and our role within it. The audit runs smoothly and issues are quickly dealt with as they arise and their suggestions are always practicable. Throughout the year, I always know I can pick up the phone and get a response to my questions and someone will pop out for a chat if need be. The fees have been agreed to in advance and have been kept to – which is a very refreshing change from our larger firm experience – and I feel confident that if we did need a significant amount of extra work, it would all be agreed up front.
