David is a member of haysmacintyre’s hospitality team, with more than 11 years of experience working with entities ranging from small owner managed businesses to large international groups. Beyond audit, he enjoys working with clients to identify improvements in financial accounting and reporting.
David joined haysmacintyre as part of the graduate intake in 2012, training and qualifying with the Firm before progressing through to Director. He specialises in delivering robust audits to clients in the hospitality sector, using his industry specific knowledge to tailor audits to the particular needs of the businesses that he works with and provide them with practical recommendations to help them improve. His portfolio spans restaurants, bars, hotels, and private members clubs.
David has prior experience providing accounting services to various companies, which included being responsible for the year-end statutory financial reporting and dealing with the external auditors. This gives him an understanding of the audit process from the other side of the fence.
In his spare time, David enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, watching rugby league, and seeking new dining experiences.
