Kamlesh Chauhan

The VAT rules are constantly evolving with continual changes in HMRC practice and guidance, case law, and VAT legislation. Kam ensures that he is up to date with VAT developments and keeps clients informed on how any changes may affect them. As an experienced VAT adviser, Kam prides himself on being able to explain complex VAT matters to clients in way that they can understand.

Prior to joining haysmacintyre in 2012, Kam worked for a ‘Top 10’ accountancy firm for a number of years in a generalist role as well as being a member of a ‘Big 4’ VAT team specialising in Financial Services.

Beyond haysmacintyre, Kam is involved in the VAT Practitioners Group which is an organisation that brings together individuals with an interest in VAT from a variety of backgrounds to share VAT knowledge.

In his spare time, Kam enjoys spending time with his young children, playing sports, and reading detective novels.

Vikram Sandhu

In addition to providing clients with audit and accounting assistance, Vikram has also presented to Trustees on governance requirements and the practical application of financial reporting for charities helping organisations best convey the impact of their work in their accounts. Vikram has also completed financial modelling and forecasting work for schools and overseeing due diligence projects.

Prior to joining haysmacintyre, Vikram was an Associate Director at Buzzacott where he was a key member of their charities and education team. More recently he worked for Menzies where he helped grow their not for profit service provision.

Until recently, Vikram was a governor and a member of the finance committee of a local academy school.

Vikram is an avid follower of all sports, playing five-a-side football and golf and he enjoys spending his free time with his young family.

Louise Veragoo

Louise provides tax advisory and compliance services to our NFP clients, including creative sector tax reliefs, Gift Aid, group tax planning, international matters and the application of corporation tax charitable reliefs.

Prior to joining haysmacintyre in 2016, Louise worked as a senior tax manager at a top 5 accountancy firm, specialising in the NFP sector.

Beyond haysmacintyre, Louise is a trustee for a local charity which gives her insight into the daily issues faced by charities.

In her spare time, Louise enjoys the great outdoors, particularly gardening, walking and cycling and enjoys cooking up a storm in the kitchen.

Steve Harper

Steve enjoys building long lasting relationships with his clients and acting as a trusted advisor year round. In addition to statutory audit, Steve leads grant funder audits, due diligence assignments and other one off pieces of work. He is a regular speaker at our internal events and at external events. Steve is also the editor of haysmacintyre’s international charity benchmarking report.

Prior to joining haysmacintyre in 2016, Steve was a key member of the not for profit team at a top 10 audit firm.

Away from haysmacintyre, Steve is trustee and treasurer of an international disaster mapping charity and a global network organisation which works to make the voices of street children heard. This provides him with a wider perspective and empathy for the challenges faced by his client.

In his spare time, Steve enjoys travelling and watching Leicester City Football Club.

Phil Salmon

Phil started his career in 1989 in what was then HM Customs & Excise, culminating in a spell in VAT Policy at Headquarters. He left in 1998 to join a predecessor firm to haysmacintyre and then after a spell at a larger firm joined haysmacintyre in 2007, becoming Partner in 2013.
