Summary of the role
This is a newly created role within the firm and the Marketing Communications Manager will be responsible for haysmacintyre’s internal and external communications and play a vital role in the firm’s initiatives and wider projects.
This role provides a fantastic opportunity to lead on all communications and is suitable for candidates seeking a challenging but exciting role to formulate and implement the marketing communications strategy.
It is vital that the Marketing Communications Manager has excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven experience in developing and reporting on communication strategies.
Main duties and responsibilities
External communications
- Responsible for developing and implementing the Firm’s overall external communications strategy.
- Develop and implement firmwide, sector and service specific communication plans, which are firmly aligned to the Firm’s strategy, and generate measurable results.
- Work with our technical experts to identify and create compelling and engaging content, maintaining the firm’s tone of voice and key messages.
- Advise on and bolster the firm’s SEO strategy.
- Manage the relationship with the firm’s PR agency to ensure they are aligned to the communications strategy, to elevate the firm’s profile and explore new press opportunities.
Internal communications
- Collaborate with the internal project teams to share updates on change management processes and key projects throughout the firm.
- Assist with curating content and drafting messaging for internal events and campaigns.
- Contribute content to the firm’s intranet, weekly staff newsletter and firm briefing, considering how best to engage internal audiences.
- Seek opportunities to raise the internal profile of the sector and service line groups.
- Drive communications and lead on initiatives to promote the firm’s values and mission statement.
- Work alongside the People team to create and share compelling updates on benefits policies and opportunities arising across the firm.
Additional responsibilities
- Work with the Marketing team to create a robust Marketing and Business Development budget.
- Record/measure ROI for all owned and paid for communication initiatives/channels and analyse data to inform future communications.
The candidate
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in copywriting and proofreading.
- Highly organised and comfortable working at pace, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience using content management systems (CMS) and analytics tools.
- Awareness of SEO best practices, and experience in content optimisation.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the business to ensure effective communication and alignment of content with business objectives.
- Demonstrable suitability to work in a management role and an ability to communicate effectively to the full range of our stakeholders through a variety of platforms.
- Possess a high degree of initiative and independent judgment with excellent troubleshooting, decision-making, and follow-through skills.
- Ideally an academic or professional qualification in marketing communications.
- An open and approachable personality.
- An interest in the Firm, its people, and its clients.
- An understanding of the audit and accountancy profession, particularly in the context of the firm’s position in the market.
