Tom Wilson
Partner, Head of Sport
Tom specialises in advising clients in the sports industry and has worked within the sector for most of his career.
His portfolio includes national and international governing bodies and leagues, major events providers, professional sports teams and clubs, as well as many other sports related organisations including sports technology companies. Tom is responsible for driving the firm’s growth and specialism in this area. Additionally, Tom works with a number of membership organisations and trade associations, as well as clients in the education sector.
Whilst Tom’s delivery is focused on statutory audit and accountancy, he also provides rounded business advice to his clients spanning financial control, governance, risk and other assurance. He also has significant experience with due diligence and modelling assignments, encompassing acquisitions and mergers and business structuring.
Tom was appointed Partner in October 2017 having worked his way through the ranks since joining haysmacintyre as a trainee in 2008. He is a member of the Sport, Entertainment and Media committee at the ICAEW and has recently been invited to join the audit committee of the British Olympic Association as an independent member.
Tom’s interests outside of work are mostly sports-related, and he has travelled the globe to attend football and cricket tournaments. Right now, firmly rooted in the UK, he is a keen follower of Blackpool Football Club.
