Spring Budget 2023: Full summary

On 15 March 2023, the Chancellor Jeremy Hunt, delivered a ‘Budget for Growth’. Our summary provides an overview of the key announcements arising from the Chancellor’s Budget, and how they are likely to impact your business and personal finances.

Reversal on Emergency Budget

As the saying goes, a week is a long time in politics. However, recent events have been unprecedented. At the Mini Budget a new Prime Minister and Chancellor launched a new agenda, ‘The Growth Plan’.

We used the haysmacintyre tax advisory team to support our application to HMRC for a VAT recovery rate agreement. This was a drawn-out process, with multiple HMRC requests for information that was ultimately resolved satisfactorily. We really appreciated the time that the haysmacintyre team spent working with us on our application; they were patient and helpful, and dedicated senior resources so as to provide expert opinions that greatly helped with the process. They consistently met the HMRC deadlines, and were on hand at all times to answer any related queries that we had. All in all, they made a stressful process much more manageable, and we were very happy with the service we received.
