James joined the firm in 2011 before training as a chartered accountant and chartered tax advisor with haysmacintyre. James now works as a Director specialising in Corporation Tax, as well as heading up the hospitality sector within our Business Tax team.
James has a wealth of experience advising corporate clients and believes that building strong relationships and understanding his client’s commercial aims are key to providing great tax advice. James enjoys guiding and advising his clients throughout their journey and looks after many of the firm’s key hospitality clients, from single site and family-run businesses to independent groups, franchises and large corporates.
James also has widespread experience working with investors on their acquisition strategies, including due diligence and M&A support through a transaction. He has built specific expertise around assisting clients prepare for an exit in order to maximise value and through SPA support, working to ensure that a deal can be structured as tax efficiently as possible for his clients.
Outside of work, James is typically found on a squash court or losing golf balls across the courses of Surrey and Kent!
