Since 1996, James has specialised in advising high net worth UK and non-UK resident/domiciled individuals and the trustees/beneficiaries of offshore (non-UK resident) trust/company structures on how the UK tax regime may apply to them, always aiming to help his clients navigate the UK’s complex tax regime as efficiently and as prudently as possible.
James enjoys building long term relationships with his clients so it feels less like a professional relationship and more like a personal one. At the heart of it, James’ advice is focussed on what ultimately allows his clients and their family comfort, freedom, and their personal wealth.
His clients range from trust/company structures holding long standing family wealth to individuals who have created their own wealth or are in the process of doing so.
James joined haysmacintyre in October 2019 as a Private Client and Trust tax partner, having previously headed up a Private Client practice in a similar sized London based firm. James’ offshore expertise came from 10 years working in the Channel Islands for specialist UK tax teams within two of their largest fiduciary services providers.
Outside of work, when not being dad-taxi, James is a keen sportsman (which doesn’t necessarily mean that he’s any good).
