Financial Modelling

Financial modelling is at the crux of a significant amount of business decisions, whether it is applied to assessing strategic goals, looking at whether to acquire or sell, investing in capex or resource, raising finance or just generally planning for the business strategic and working capital needs in the future.  Forecasting scenarios by utilising a model, which allows you to assess flexible, but tailored assumptions, will enable you to understand both the opportunities as well as the risks and potential pinch points in your business.

How haysmacintyre can help you

For our clients we produce tailored, bespoke financial models in Microsoft Excel.  The models that we produce for our clients are robust, reliable, clear, understandable and adaptable.

We build and tailor the model depending on each individual client’s requirements and we work with our clients to ensure that the model we produce for them can be utilised in the long term within their business.  With our sector specialist knowledge we are able to draw on our experiences and really tailor each model to allow you to both assess the risks, but also use the model for making better business decisions.

We utilise our specialist Excel skills with our pragmatic and insightful approach to build models for our clients that add real value to their business.  Clients utilise the models in a variety of ways from helping them assess acquisitions to strategic planning and planning for any operational changes within the business.  Having a reliable and robust financial model is a powerful tool both with lenders and to encourage investors’ confidence.

We have significant experience both in the preparation and review of financial models. Assignments we have covered have ranged from start-up projections with the aim to raising Series A capital, through to fully integrated working capital models, prepared in advance of an IPO. We also apply this experience to our review of working capital projections in IPO processes, allowing for a higher quality and more efficient contribution to the process.

Transaction Advisory Services

We can help you complete deals quickly, smoothly and on favourable terms. We do this by identifying the risks early and uncovering the information that can be crucial in negotiating the terms of a deal.

At Imaginatik Plc, we had revisited our share option scheme in the year resulting in the need to carry out a valuation model exercise for the purpose of our year-end financial statements.

This needed to be independent of our auditors and having previously worked with Ian, haysmacintyre were an obvious choice. The experience, albeit never straight forward when creating a valuation model, was made clear and resulted in something that was easy to use and apply to our option scheme as the group develops.
